It’s a fine weather to gather for picnic. While purchasing food items, we thought of getting some moon cakes and lanterns to enjoy the fun of celebrating the mid-autumn festival.
We got two mini-snow skin mooncake (Durian & Choc), two traditional mooncake (Yam & Red Bean), four laterns (Elephant, Duck, Chicken & Rabbit), some candles and a packet of fire sparkler.

There are a lot of Durian puffs and snacks items. It’s a relief that we have this whole area to ourselves. Not everyone is comfortable with the oriental fruit smell.
Finally the time has come for us to play with our lanterns, we happily moved our items and mooncake out of the tent to starts the fire. The wind is strong, especially so when we are in the sand area. Our various attempts to light up the candles have failed but we are determined to find a way to get the lanterns lighted.
It is only until the moment when the wind turns violent and so strong that almost moved our tent away did we realise that there is going to be a heavy rain very soon. We got panicked (as it is dangerous for us to stay in open space next to the sea during heavy rain with thunder) and quickly pack our stuff and rushed to the car park. It’s a real drama; we found that our mini-mooncakes have been blown away by the wind. We bundle up our items in lightning speed and rushed ahead, as the rain is coming from the other side.
During a cold and wet weather, the best eating venue would be a place that is warm and pleasant. We went to the famous San Katong Laska Steamboat for a scrumptious dinner.
