Dine on..

The home is one's castle, the saying goes. Happiness for me, is when I can sit and have a proper meal. I was being introduced the teochew traditional noodles " Chang Shou Mien" ( my mother says its actually thick vermicelli) . Dining with a family whilst exchanging life stories reminds me of those english sitcom Ive seen. It will always be the father who share the most, and would never run out of interesting topics, usually accompanied with a life lesson behind...

Something about my religion was in part of the conversation. Why Buddhist shouldn't take beef? Reason being dat cow are hard labor in the past, we must not eat those poor thing. To add on, we have been reminded dat it was also a history, nowadays cow are not required to work as hard, so not poor thing anymore, which means can be eaten. Aha.. make sense to me dat why some other Buddhist went ahead eating beef. Be it the truth, it has long been a food myth that we follow faithfully (partly respecting parent decision).

Should we ever wan to clarify our doubts, we can always plan for a farm visit. Moo moos..
