Alternative Investment

My group of aunties have brought the columbarium niche as a plan for their future. It was understood that such property value will only increase with time, and there is high resale price, which could either be an alternative avenue for safe investment. Such units have a lease period of 3-4 decades and will need to pay additional for renewal. If the purchase is for investment purposes, they easily transfer/ sell the lease to another. The facilities has 6-stars rating with good fengshui and it is fully air-conditioned with electronic device and a tap card for easy search. This investment group has been very successful in Malaysia and other parts of Asia.

Since it is a group purchase, my aunites has asked for a lucky draw (joke! - does not exist) or a dinner treat. We have got a table in the Joy Garden, which includes an evening programmes with all the representatives and their guests. The evening gathering was an informal introduction on the properties and services, while at the same time a donation drive for Ren Ci hospital. The food was slowly served, as they need a lot of time for the presentation and sales talk. Our families does not treat this purchase as an investment, but rather an early planning so that they could stay together for convenient visiting in the future. One of my aunty who has brought another niche elsewhere was thinking of getting a second set to stay at the same place with the rest of our other family members (joke! - my uncle says that in the far future, he could stay at the other apartment whenever he quarrel with his wife; and my another aunt added that he could even keep a mistress inside). The presenter says that when we are alive, we all need an LV, when we are no longer around, we need an NV. I know it is good to do advance planning, but such preparation doesn't come cheap and the listing in stocks does not makes me feel comfortable.

I am not sure if you have heard of the Nirvana. People would buy niches as an investment property. The cost price ranges between $6k and $20K, depending on the location and the surrounding facilities. Do note that there is a leasehold period of 30 yrs. There is a team of dedicated property agents working full-time to handle these transaction.
